The weather today was again cold but the wind was blowing quite strongly and caused the few launchers a number of problems. - I must say sorry if there are any mistakes in this report as I was away on Holiday in the Lake District so I am creating this report from the launch cards and Paul's photos)
Thanks must go to Ken and Alan who took control of the meeting and did a great job of Range safety officers and made sure the meeting went well - thanks guys !!!!
Paul was the first to launch his home made and fin less rocket called "The Pencil" which was launched on a 1/2A-3T engine and I have been told flew well as it then did a second flight which also went well.
Henry and James turned up after being away for the last few meetings and brought a long a number of rockets including a Manta which James flew twice
Unfortunately the first launch of the Manta was a bit short and quick as the wrong engine was used and the rocket was underpowered and landed just 7 feet from the pad. It was then launched on a normal C6-7 engine and was recovered on a large streamer made from the yellow and black barrier tape
Sam came along and brought a number of rockets including a Skywinder, a Supershot and the Corkscrew
Sam first launched his Skywinder on a B4-2 engine and even the rocket did a nice flight the rocket crashed and was broken but Sam managed to find all the parts so perhaps it can be repaired and flown again.
Sam then Launched his Supershot rocket on a B4-2 and the rocket did a nice flight and was recovered by a streamer and landed without suffering any damage. It was quickly rearmed on a A8-3 engine and again did a nice but a slightly shorter flight.
Sam's last two launches were with his Corkscrew rocket which was launched both times on a B4-2 engine but the first time it was recovered on a streamer and the second time he was brave and used a small 12 inch parachute for a recovery and the rocket was recovered again without damage
Andrew also came along and braved the wind to launch a few rockets including a the new Estes Venom and a Bandit, both rockets did nice flights and were recovered.
The meeting had a total of 14 people turn up, 4 members launched 15 rockets
