H.A.R.T. Launch Meeting 6th May 2000

This meeting of HART had nice weather and just little wind, a perfect flying day.

The first to launch was my Flash on a A8-3 engine and this was a little underpowered but showed which way the wind was blowing for the rest of the members.

The next to launch was Gary with his Sabre rocket on a B6-4, this rocket again did a nice flight and was quickly retrieved after a short walk.

After a while I decided to launch my Mean Machine and even though I had a smaller 12 inch parachute on it the rocket drifted a fair distance down range and I had a nice long walk to get it.

Gavin was the next to launch one of his Quest Rockets on A8-3 which did a short but nice flight and landed a few feet behind the gazebo he had put up.

I then launched the Flash on the A10-0 to A8-3 staged, the rocket took off nicely and then as it was underpowered the rocket slowed down before the A8-3 lit and the rocket again accelerated skywards before deploying it's chute and landing a short walk away.

Gavin then launched his Evader Rocket on A6-4

Gary last launch was his first ever Aerotech launch - he launched his Initiator rocket on an E15-4W, the rocket took off under a large white flame and with a loud roar and did a perfect flight.

A number of the new H.A.R.T. members instantly also become hooked on Aerotech engines.

James then launched his Estes Master class Shuttle, this did a great flight and the shuttle deployed from the booster but a little to late and was nose diving as it separated and nose dived into some long grass. The booster section was recovered quickly but the shuttle was hidden and only after a long hard search was the glider found upside down in the grass.

I then launched the Flash on the A10-0 to A8-3 staged again but this time the second stage become unstable and the rocket crashed whilst under power but luckily no damage was done.

Overall a good day with around 30 flights and 15 people
