First a BIG and warm welcome to our new members, young Ben who has a Sure Shot starter kit, and to the clubs 200th member, Jamie Elliot.
Welcome also to John Garnham whom, as some of you may rember, put on a spectacular display with his Phoenix Rocket Gliders at the start of the season.
With winter fast approaching, no time should be lost in squeezing in as many launches as possible before the end of season.
The weather has provided some awesome challenges these past two launch meetings, with wind speeds exceeding 20 m.p.h. on occasions. This in no way deterred, father and son team, Chris and Sam Parker.
Facing fast winds they launched a Sidewinder which promptly deposited it's self into the watery depths of 'Jet-ski lake’. Waiting for a lull in the wind, Sam launched his 'Navy'. Unfortunately this lovely rocket too, became victim to Jet-Ski lake.
Chris has developed an interesting 'Plastic / balsa' prototype, that gives us a see-through visual of the 'workings' of the model, and we eagerly await the launch of this rocket. Jake's Skyhawk was blown way off course and is now, quite probably, bio-degrading somewhere in the long grass of Stubbers.
An interesting two-stager 'Longshot', was launched by David, and went well on a D/C engine combination. Nice to see you again John, it's been a while.
James and Henry launched a rear ejecting 'Sizzler' and a maiden launch of a scratch built two-stager they had made, was also successful.
We enjoyed the launch of the 'Intruder’, from the Estes RediRocs range, launched by the youngest member of their family. The meet saw some old (not you Ken) and familiar faces.
Brian, who looked after the Wings and Wheels workshop for us ,expertly so, I may add, arrived without rockets or caravan, with some excuse about "making up a new ignition box". Never mind Brian you are always welcome at H.A.R.T.
Jake had hoped to launch his 'Green Thing' on an AeroTech E ,but prevailing winds were against him and the launch was called off.
