H.A.R.T. DISPLAY AT "THE ROYALS"
SOUTHEND - 25th-26th MAY 2003

After getting a nice phone call from Storm Media in Leigh on Sea, H.A.R.T. was soon booked to do their biggest display to date, in front of an estimated 250,000 people.

We were given the main window in Debenhams and also 2 hand carts to be placed in the aisles of the shopping centre.

We were asked to set up on Saturday night, and at 6.30pm we arrived at was given access to the Debenhams store and its main window display.

It felt really strange walking through a large shopping centre and one of its biggest shops when its totally empty.

We got rather strange looks from people walking past the window as myself and Lucy starting unpacking the large rockets for the window display.

Sunday soon arrived and I managed to set up the hand carts just before the doors were unlocked and got ready for the first of the crowds.

The next two days flew by as we were busy answering questions from the public who were interested in the rockets.

The HART stand finally closed at just before 5.00pm on the Monday evening so we could watch the Red Arrows finishing the Air Show.

We got home totally shattered but we are already looking forward to next years show.

It was nice to get a phone call a few days later from the Shopping centre saying that the shops got a lot of enquires about the rockets and that shops sales were up on the days that H.A.R.T. were there.
